Historical background
The planned boosting of German motorisation between the two wars faced a lot of troubles. Hampered by a low budget and restrictions from the treaty of Versailles, many
- sometimes secret - plans and projects were undertaken. One of them was the so called "Schell-Plan", which intended to structurize and lessen the so far huge number of different types of vehicles. Nevertheless modified civilian cars and trucks, as well as special military fitted types were fielded. To the latter one can count the "Krupp Protze", which was developed 1933. It was an excellent, but very costly truck. This was the reason, that production ceased at the beginning of the second halve of the war.
Model description
Tamiya has reworked the well known kits of the truck and the anti tank gun and added an interesting set of figures. It is worth mentioning, that the special items for the use within anti tank units, like ammunition boxes and the layout of the crew compartment had been totally redesigned by Tamiya and is therefore different to the "old" kit.
