I tried to create a dynamic scene which depicts the hopeless situation of the last German defenders struggling against all odds in a long lost war till the last man and the last round.

This snow-diorama shows the all-out assault of the Red Army towards a German trench by means of a T-70 and some Infantrymen.

The tank is meant to belong to the Leningrad front in spring 1944. I painted it with Tamiya paint and tried to achieve the impression of a worn winter cammouflage.

The basis of the terrain was made of styrofoam with a frame of plywood. The material for the groundwork came from cellulose, water and white glue. After the drying period, the base was treated with paper, water and earth as well as with black acrylic paint. Still wet, the modell was pressed into the surface.

To spark the interest in the scenery even further I added an old model of a German side car in the foreground and some equipment into the trench. The sand bags were produced by means of 2-component model putty and the crates from balsa wood.

The snow is made from glaze. Surplus material was blown away.

The figures are from the Verlinden brand and were painted with Vallejo water solulable colouring.
