Political organisations in the 3rd Reich
When Germany began the war, itīs population was widely emerged into several civil political organisations as there were:
- Hitler Youth (HJ)
- League of German Maids (BDM)
- Working league of the Reich (RAD)
- National Socialists Motorized Corps (NSKK)
- National Socialists Flying Corp (NSFK) and many more.
This was not only done by the Nazi-party to influence the peoples attitude towards them, but also to do some civil pre-war education and preparation.
Therefore our little boy in this szene is susceptible to the propaganda posters from Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS, that can be seen on the advertising column. He is not yet aware of the real artocities of war... .
Making the vigniette base

The
figures
were provided by "Hornet"
. They all were fixed unchanged. The base plate is a little piece of plywood,
on which I attached a thin layer of plaster cast. Immediately after drying
one has to engrave the pattern for simulating the pavement structure.
The advertising column ist made of plastic sheet, which was boiled in
water and then wraped around a tube. The same was with the basement of
the column, except that I made many scars with my modell knife to imitate
the stone pattern. The roof ist very thin plastic sheet, that was glued
on top of and under a metal ring. Reduced copies of propaganda posters
from a history book provided the content of this advertising column. Some
of them were coloured by means of crayons. A wooden frame ended this quickly
finished work.
Conclusion:
Apart from the price of the Hornet figures, I made an - in my opinion - expressive little szene, in which I am sometimes more interested, than in some big sized hard labour-dioramas. And on top of that it livens up my repertoire of otherwise strictly warlike work.
